The Carrington League is named after the first ship that sailed along the Blackstone Canal that connected Worcester to Narragansett Bay in 1828, the Lady Carrington. It is a nod to the Canal District where we play, and to Worcester’s heritage.

The Heywood League is named after the Daniel Heywood Tavern (which today would be on Exchange St.) which was the actual starting place of the American Revolution on September 6, 1774. You can read more about this piece of Worcester History here.
Summer Leagues
Tricorne League (Friday Night - Worcester)
The Tricorne League was originally designed to adhere to our COvID-19 protocols, however we have decided to make this a staple of our summer offerings. The format for this league is Triples Curling. As its name suggests, curlers compete in teams of 3, and all ends consist of 6 rocks thrown per team, with each player throwing 2 rocks. Each game consists of 3 ‘Sets’ of 2-End mini-games, with each team playing with the hammer for one of these ends and without the hammer for the other. The team scoring the most points after these 2 ends wins that Set. However, if the score is tied at the completion of the set of a Set, it becomes a ‘Split Set’. One of the unique features of the Triples format is that curlers play each of the 3 positions (i.e., Lead, Middle, and Skip) for one Set of the game.
*Once the schedule has been completed for the Boston Sports Institute (Wellesley), we will post information on the leagues at that location.
