Colonial Curling

Welcome to Colonial Curling

Colonial Curling believes: "Curling is for everyone and almost anyone can curl."

Adults and mature children are eligible to participate in Colonial Curling events. (Children must be at least 13 years old and accompanied by an adult guardian.)

The Colonial Curling Club curls at the Worcester Ice Center, located at 112 Harding Street, Worcester MA 01604. We curl on Friday evenings starting at 9:00/9:30 pm (or 7:00 pm in the Summer) and Sunday evenings starting at 6:00 pm (or 5:00 pm in the summer). During the evenings, members curl for about 2 to 2.5 hours using a "pick up" format to establish teams. (The session leaders create teams from the attending curlers with the objective of ensuring everyone has fun and is able to work on improving their curling skills.) The club curls year round with Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer sessions. Each session consists of around 6 to 8 evenings of curling. Depending on when and how many evenings are purchased, the cost to curl is between $20 to $40 an evening. Beginners must complete a "Learn to Curl" class which costs $50.

YIACBWECYCIM (the "YAK") 2025!

Registration for this year's YIACBWECYCIMIM ("YAK") is now open. This one-day event is being held at the Worcester Ice Center on Saturday, May 17, 2025, with the first draw at 8:00 am, and the event concluding at approximately 8:00 pm. Due to overwhelming demand last year, the YAK is being expanded this year from sixteen teams to thirty-two, which we plan to divide into two brackets based on skill and experience levels. Every team is guaranteed three games. The link to register can be found HERE. Brooms Up will be there again with curling supplies.

The YAK is open to curlers of all skill and experience levels, including those who have never curled before. The YAK is not a typical bonspiel but is instead a celebration of curling after the close of the regular Massachusetts bonspiel season. Experienced teams are encouraged to register and can expect a friendly competition against other experienced competitors. Less experienced teams are likewise encouraged to register and get the experience of a curling competition in a low-pressure environment. The efforts of beginning teams are recognized with the giving of the "YAK award" to the team from the less-competitive bracket that loses all its matches.

We look forward to seeing you!
